Dental Benefits
Understanding your dental insurance coverage (dental benefits) can be challenging. At Cliff Lake Dental Care, our goal is to assist you in understanding and maximizing your dental benefits. First and foremost, please understand that dental benefits are a contract between your employer and your insurance company and you are the policy holder. We care for patients from many different employers and each employer pays an insurance premium for specific coverage which fits the company's budget. Cliff Lake Dental Care's liability ends at submitting your dental insurance claim. We encourage you to become familiar with your policy by contacting your dental benefit company at their customer service telephone number, reading your benefit booklet, checking your policy online or contacting your employer's human resource department.

Our courtesy service regarding dental benefits includes:
1) Filing your dental benefit claim within 24 hours of your visit and requesting payment of your benefit to our office.
2) Electronically filing your dental benefit claims for short payment turn around.
3) Acquiring a breakdown of your benefits and advising you of the estimated benefits available to you.
4) Automatically refiling unpaid insurance claims at 30 days and a final time at 60 days.
5) Automatically following up on requests for additional information from your insurance company.
6) Advising you of any information we may have that could assist you in maximizing your dental benefits.
7) Following the American Dental Association guidelines for coding procedures and filing insurance claims.

Our expectations of you as the owner of the insurance policy include:
1) Payment of fees not covered by your dental benefit plan at the time the service is delivered.
2) Understanding that you are the owner of the insurance policy and that we have no leverage to obtain payment from your insurance carrier.
3) Understanding that your dental benefit company does not guarantee the accuracy of breakdown information obtained through our office, through your benefit book or through your communications until your claim is processed.
4) Taking responsibility for payment if the insurance company does not pay our office within 60 days.
5) Taking responsibility for any remaining balance that your insurance company does not cover.
6) Keeping our office informed of changes in your insurance policy or your employer. It is likely that you can continue coming to Cliff Lake Dental Care even if your policy changes.  We are happy to call your new dental benefit company and inquire about what your benefits would be at our office.

Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding your dental benefits.
